Aspen Scholarship Recipients!

Congratulations to the Aspen scholarship recipients.

Hazel Wille, Hugo Saucedo, Katie Garcia Martinez, & Maggie McGuire

Congratulations to Maggie McGuire a young woman who has demonstrated her caring and commitment by participating in the Big Buddy Program, Outreach Club, Action in Africa, Peer to Peer tutoring, and is a member of National Honor Society. She has been on the volleyball team, the Ski Team ,and the Lacrosse team, Her Model UN and her Rotary Exchange experience in Poland have led her to the University of Colorado Boulder where she will pursue studies in the international field.

Congratulations to Katie Garcia Martinez a student who has been active in National Honor Society, and will receive an IB Certificate in Spanish. She plays on the soccer team and writes published poetry. She is an English in Action tutor and, in fact, she also tutors people to help them pass their US citizenship tests. She wants to become an immigration attorney because she is passionate about being a role model for other students in order help them achieve their dreams. She will be attending either Colorado State University or the University of Colorado Boulder.

Congratulations to Hugo Saucedo a student who is both an athlete and a scholar. He has been a member of the varsity football team and plays with the Aspen Junior Gents Rugby Club. He is a member of NHS and will receive IB Certificates in Biology, Business Management, and Spanish. He is a Big Buddy, an active member of Pathfinders Club and FBLA Club. This outstanding young man will attend the University of Colorado Boulder and study in the areas of business, engineering and technology.

Congratulations to Hazel Lou Wille a young woman who is a member of National Honor Society, was Junior class treasurer and is currently Student Body treasurer. She has participated on the Nordic Team, the Lacrosse team and the Cross Country team. She carries on the tradition of her family in which community involvement is a way of life. She has volunteered as Shining Stars Student Coordinator, in the Buddy Program and done service work in Costa Rica and Nicaragua. She will seek a degree in Environmental Design at the University of Colorado Boulder.
